This morning it was so humid, mist rose right off the surface of the lake and wrapped the trees in diaphanous white gauze. I kept an eye peeled for Avalon, but nothing appeared through mist but ducks. Another hot day today: thinking of gazpacho, thanks to José mentioning it on Facebook.

At the Fair

I always look forward to fair season. I love the fairs!
BTW, I like the new design at the Mangrove Legacy.
Thanks, Cranky -- feedback helps! I stumbled across a picture that really looks good against the background and fits the ambiance nicely.
Fairs are a weird thing in this time: the youngster along with us complained "there's no wifi!" but was excited about seeing the exotic chickens. It's weird that chickens have become exotic!
Love the picture of the exotic chicken. Not like the ones I've had in my backyard.
And maybe I should let my horse friend that horse on Facebook. What a hoot.
What?! Your horse doesn't have a Facebook page yet? Do you limit computer time in the stables?
;-)
"Wibur! My Blackberry can't get connectivity!"
LOL - does the equine Blackberry feature ginormous buttons?
I have many fond memories of the Altamont Fair. We went every year when I was a child. We would head up on a Friday with a cooler full of sandwiches (my mother made these sandwiches better for this event than she did for the rest of the year) and a day of rides, livestock and handwriting analysis (my favorite part). Thank you for the brief trip down memory lane!
I'm so glad it gave you a pleasant trip down memory lane. It was for me a bit, too. We used to go to the Ionia Free Fair most summers and sometimes down to the State Fair near Detroit.
