Walpurgisnacht

Teaching is done for the semester, just finals to go. I was sad to see the back of my film class, but they were more than ready to move on to finals and summer and graduation. It's Walpurgisnacht, so bonfires are burning -- and in Finland people are probably already drinking sima for Vappu (and getting ready to fry tippaleipä). We're off to see the Jesus of Cool. No doubt, I'll be writing up the sold-out concert tomorrow.

The joey Zone sends along this oddity: an impressionistic film of Peer Gynt from 1941, starring a teenage Chuck Heston. Seems appropriate for this wild night.

Oh landy, was that show amazing or what? Just him and his guitar. Wow.

Best. Acoustic. Guitar. Player. Ever?

And even a great audience. Just tons and tons o' fun. Thanks for taking me, Sweetie!

The guy from The Linda was on WAMC this morning, and he said they were hoping to broadcast the concert in September. That's a long time to wait, but it'll be worth it to hear it again.

To non-Hudson Valley Lowe fans: WAMC streams over the intarwub, so anybody'll be able to hear the show. I expect that, once we know for certain when the show will be broadcast, Kate will give you all the details via the power of the blogpost.

Well, this member of your film class is sad its over too. (Maybe that's why I'm still drawing out the paper writing due in the a.m.?)

I've got the Netflix queue fired up for a bit of independent summer study. Should we do a movie night?

Glad you enjoyed! I will be around most of the summer. Maybe after I get back from England and you from Africa, we can see some fun things.
