Check out my latest piece over at
BitchBuzz, about how the cancellation of the Friday night Fox double-header of
Terminator and
Dollhouse will doubtless be taken as more evidence that "chick shows don't sell" rather than "not so good shows with little support or worthwhile writing don't gain much of an audience."

Why you always gotta be hatin' on Dollhouse?
Hey, I didn't cancel it!
Well, it's an icky concept that wants to have things both ways: "oh, look how these poor women are being exploited -- no, look closely as the camera glides over their naked flesh in sexual encounters they won't remember once their brains are wiped AGAIN, so they can be sent out for more exploitation..."
Dude! What's your point?
I've half-convinced myself that Fox is ready to go ahead with a seond season of DOLLHOUSE for the reasons I mentioned on the Horror list today...more material (of what sort I'll leave to you) to spread around, more product to amortize the expenses of gettng the series off the ground. They have two seasons of TERMINATOR in the can, after all. And Lena Headey is still the main attraction there, for me, rather than Summer Glau, but I'm Middle Aged.
Doooood! You're probably right. This who approach to television as packaging product is what leads to this mess. We foolish folk still expect we might actually see a show -- more fool us, eh?
