The Golden Compass

It's hard not to get excited about the movie version of Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass, especially with its glorious new trailer. As Gene says, let's hope that all the attention didn't go into the special effects, but rather on capturing Pullman's beautifully realized world inspired by Blake and Milton. So I went to the website and "found" my daemon. You be the judge: is it me?

My dæmon turns out to be Bryanna, the crow. I accepted her right away, rather than ask friends if they thought she was "correct" for me. After all, we don't choose our dæmons - they settle into their final forms on their (our) own...

I don't know why I first read that as "cow"! Hee hee. Crow is cool -- I kind of like my tiger-shaped daemon. Maybe no one will alter it...

Gee, now I'm regretting not accepting him right away!

Hey -- now I'm a lion?! Huh -- interesting to see what happens.

Now I'm a raccoon! Oooh --- I guess my daemon is changing because I'm still a kid (hee hee).

Last I checked, I got a lion.

If people responded since you first set up your daemon, it may have changed shapes. I'm curious to see mine change -- what will it be next?

I checked mine again and it was a lynx. Now it's a tiger. Who's changing it? At least I'm staying feline.

It should only be people to whom you sent the link (ha ha, lynx, links). The page should say how many times it has been changed. I know I logged on to look at yours :-)

Hey -- I'm back to tiger! Wheee!
