Happy Halloween!

It's so lovely to be back in the Northeast for Halloween -- hearing the leaves crunch under your feet, seeing the smoky colors of fall, feeling the crisp cold in the air. Why not read a little passage from Ray Bradbury's The October Country?

With luck, most folks got their Halloween cards even though we were a bit remiss on getting them into the post on time. If so, great -- if not, we'll do better next year!

I'm not sure I could pick a favorite...

Karon Flage on the Horror list sent along this link to the ILM Halloween party. That's some Trojan Rabbit there!

Wow -- not a single trick-or-treater all night. How sad that the tradition is dying. Everyone's just too fearful of their neighbors.

:-(

I'm not so familiar with Bradbury as I should be (my bad...)
But if I had to pick a truly scary story for Halloween, it would be "Sticks" by Karl Edward Wagner.

This story scared the bejeezus out of me when I first read it. When Blair Witch came out, I immediately said, "Hey! It's just like Sticks!" And apparently, other people said the same thing!
