10 Things I Love

Tapped by my Twitter pal, Betty Herbert, here is a random list of 10 things that I unabashedly love. They are not in rank order and this might be a completely different list tomorrow. Anyway, it distracted me for a moment from the packing panic.

1. Peter Cook

2. Mark E Smith

3. Jane Austen

4. Beowulf

5. Cary Grant films

6. Martinis

7. London

8. AbFab

9. My kantele

10. Writing

What are YOUR ten?! Don't think about it; just list them. I challenge you! Come here and leave a comment to tell me when you've answered.

My list would be very similar. I would expand London to all of the UK though and make Paris my city.

Hee -- I'm sure a lot of people would agree with this (mostly predictable) list. I've never really taken to Paris. I know it has a lot of history and romance for people, but I just never felt the frisson of excitement that most people do for it. Complete lack of Gallic blood, I guess. Not that there's anything English in my heritage (as far as I know).

Oooh -- good list. I can't believe I left off friends! But AbFab is just code for you and Miss Wendy anyway. I left of Robyn Hitchcock, too. Sacrilege! I can't say I love Montreal, but the rest of your list, AGREED!

Excellent, Mark! That's a great list. I've not been to Barcelona, but I hope to get to Spain since it'll be a shorter hop from Ireland. Guiness -- oh yeah. I prefer Ian no M Banks, but he's good fun. THE FALL THE FALL THE FALL! Johnny Cash of COURSE. Pythons -- of COURSE. Hot as it is here, yeah on cool sheets. Night sky out in the hills especially when it's cold and crisp and you can see a million stars. Oral history -- wonderful!

But you lost me on Celtic FC. ;-)

That's such a sophisticated list, Kate! Since writing my one, I've been kicking myself over all the things I didn't include: Radio 4, Furikake seasoning, swallows, swimming in the sea...there are so many good things out there

I think that may be the first time I've been called "sophisticated"! Just my obsessions. But yeah, as soon as you start listing things, the list grows and grows. I suppose that's the nice thing: there are so many things we love!
