This was both (dying and comedy, or at least a whole lot of gallows humor). Don Coldsmith, who did consistently good work longer, also died yesterday.
I think it's more that comedy is an ongoing process. Eric Idle: What's the difference between life and a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE sketch? Life eventually ends.
