Cambridge Bound

Hey, what's on Cute Overload today? Baby turtle?!

Off to Beantown this afternoon for the conference at Harvard with my kantele by my side, and a bunch of cds. We shall see how it goes -- if nothing else, it will be fun! I get to see Ronald Hutton (but will Kylie be singing in the background as she is during his interviews on Historyonics?).

Of course, the nice thing about a trip to the East is that I get to see friends in the Boston area, then in Connecticut on the swing back.

Better yet, it's the last day of classes --- whooohooo! Well, there's still finals, but that's less stress for me, and only revisions to grade for the most part.

And of course, more Wombat hijinks in Elena's cartoon at Humorous Maximus!

Oops! Looks like this is a better URL for "The Goth Scouts."

And we expect a full report on how well your presentation goes! (Panel 3, 3:30pm Friday)

Apart from knowing the Värttinä music you'll be using, I'm not exactly sure about what you'll be discussing. And what music will you be playing on your kantele?

Oops -- must have been the rushing around that made me copy the wrong link for Elena's cartoon!

Heh heh -- what music I'll be playing? That remains to be seen! I may be dueting with Minna tonight and see what feels comfortable, possibly Värttinä favorite, "Kylä vuotti uutta kuuta." Have to carry around the case all day tomorrow, so I guess I better make sure Louhi earns her keep (that's the dark stained 10 string made by Gerry Henkel). I'm not sure that there's a place to publish this paper as it is, so it may be one I can post here. We'll see how it goes.

Whoohoo -- done teaching! Only finals to go. On the road....now.

Are you going to get Hutton to sign one of his books?? I have several on the shelf that could use his John Hancock...

See you at Cinco de Mayo!
