True enough; I've paid for hotel rooms far less spacious and picturesque than the maids' rooms. On the other hand, I didn't have to change the linen, wash and iron it by hand and suffer the whims of the well-to-do. But the gardens were lovely and it was not absolutely deadly heat and humidity-wise the first (long) day we spent there.C.
